Leaving on a jet plane has never been easier, thanks to Thomson Airways’ new mobile boarding passes.
Passport, wallet, phone, magazines, snacks… packing your hand luggage for a flight is no easy feat. But there’s one thing you won’t have to try to squeeze into your bag anymore, and that’s your boarding pass. That’s because Thomson Airways has just introduced mobile e-tickets. Simply flash your phone on your way through security, and job done.
First things first, though, you’ll need to download the MyThomson or MyFirstChoice app, and make sure you’ve got push notifications turned on. If you’ve booked a seat upgrade or are going on a Thomson A la Carte holiday, online check in will open two weeks before departure. For everyone else, it opens a week before.
When check-in is open, a notification will pop up on your phone. Simply open the app, tap ‘Manage My Flights’, and you’ll be taken to the online check-in page. From here, you can select a seat for you and everyone in your party.
Once you’ve checked in, you’ll find your boarding passes in the ‘Boarding Passes’ section of the app – you can email the relevant passes to everyone else in your group.
Then, when the big day rolls around, your boarding pass will appear on the home screen of the app, ready for you to use.
And don’t forget, there are loads of other reasons to get hold of the app. From booking excursions to checking the weather, it’s the perfect holiday companion. Best of all, it’s completely free.
