• You might not be able to wrap your head around the fact that it’s November yet – seriously, where has this year gone? – but here at Thomson Cruises, we’re always thinking ahead. That’s why we already have our Winter 2017 Cruise programmes all planned. Here’s everything you need to know about what’s coming up from November 2017, including news and special offers.

    New ports of call

From November 2017, we’ve added 5 new exciting Ports of Call to our roster. One of which is San Juan, the Puerto Rican capital full of colonial character, pretty murals and long stretches of beach. Old San Juan is a must-visit here, as it’s considered the true heart of San Juan with its colourful townhouses, open-air cafes and a unique old-school charm.

Next up is Nassau in the Bahamas, where history is brought to life with museums – everything from an interactive pirate museum to a mansion where you can learn all about 18th century slave trade is on offer.

Porto Santo in Portugal might be small, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in adventure. For starters, there’s a huge ship wreck which has now become a hot-spot for divers exploring the ruins. Plus, with tasty, traditional seafood restaurants, instagrammable town squares and rugged coastlines, you’ll get a rare glimpse of the untouched side of Portugal.

Guatemala’s Santo Tomas de Castilla Guatemala is pretty new to receiving cruise ships, so it still feels relatively untouched and off the beaten track. Head to Las Escobas for one of the best swimming spots around – paddling through crystal-clear waters with tumbling waterfalls overhead is a must.

For sunbathing and sightseeing, it’s got to be St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands. Capital Charlotte Amalie is filled with Danish architecture, cobbled streets and tree-topped mountains. Plus, there are more than enough beaches just around the corner to keep both you and your tan happy.
