Introducing our new cruise ship… TUI Explorer

We know cruising’s about so much more than just the places you visit along the way, so with that in mind, we’ve got some exciting news to share. Introducing the latest addition to our fleet… TUI Explorer.

In 2018, we’ll see the launch of the newest addition to the fleet, and we’re pretty proud of her. After our very own TUI Discovery scooped the Best New Cruise Ship award at the Editors’ Picks last year, and with her sister ship, TUI Discovery 2, setting sail in May, we’re sticking with our tried-and-tested formula – with more than a handful of swish extras, too.

Grab a bite, or ten

TUI Explorer’s going to be All Inclusive as standard, so your only problem’s going to be picking which of the 10 eateries or 10 bars you fancy. We’re bringing back firm favourites – Surf & Turf, Kora La and the Snack Shack – as well as adding in some new faces. The clue is in the name at Umi Sushi and the Hot Stone Grill, and a new dining area, The Mediterranean, will cover off pizza and tapas. For sweet teeth, Scoops ice cream stall is the go-to. At sundown, Indigo will steal the show – it’s in a first-rate spot at the very top of the ship, and will team ocean views with a casino and a nightclub.

And, relax…

As unwinding’s the name of the game on holiday, we’ve also upped the ante in the spa department. It’ll have 11 different areas, including The Veranda – an adults-only sunbathing spot with daybeds. Plus, we’ve thrown in a Finnish sauna with panoramic windows, luxury treatment rooms, and a space reserved for couples.

The cabins

Cabin-wise, we’ve pulled out plenty of stops. There’ll be 14 family-sized balcony cabins, with room for up to five people to bed down, and they’ll all measure 20 square metres. Elsewhere, TUI Explorer’s standard cabins are anything but. There’ll be more outside space on the balconies, and the inside cabins are the largest in the fleet, boasting 16 square metres each.

A new home

TUI Explorer’s setting up shop in Palma, Majorca, and for starters, will be heading off on a trip around the Western Mediterranean, taking in the likes of Florence, Barcelona and Lisbon. Here’s the best bit – the first four itineraries will be going on sale next month, so you’ve got barely any time to wait.

So, is it to be Cosmopolitan Classics, Highlights of the Mediterranean, Magic of Spain, or Mediterranean Secrets? Visit our Thomson Cruises website in April to book your getaway.

Go on, please let us know if Tui are going to be sailing out the Far East ( Hong Kong, Vietnam) etc soon. Have done 8 cruises with Thomson in Carribean and now need different ports to go to, but would love it to be still with Thomson/Tui.

I have been on most of the Thomson cruises including the TUI Discovery and in Sept the discovery 2. But with this new ship I do you will be doing cruises to Australia and New Zealand. I also hope with your expanding fleet you will start to do some sort of loyalty offers as your competitor’s do.

I sailed on Tui Discovery in March this year as a solo traveller. The ship was excellent, no problems like you experienced. Everything was very good and everyone was very friendly. I made friends with so many people and staff that I did not feel alone. I am booked on Discovery 2 next March and expect this ship to be the same. Hope you enjoy your cruise.
