It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for – our summer 2019 cruises are now on sale. That means you can book your adventure with Marella Cruises setting sail from May next year, and we can finally reveal all the exciting news that we’ve been keeping to ourselves. Now, next summer might seem like a long way away, but we reckon it’s worth getting your cruise booked early. Read on to find out why…
1. Pick from 11 new itineraries and seven new ports of call
Next summer, we’re lining up a grand total of 11 new itineraries for you. On Marella Explorer, you’ve got five new options, including stops at destinations like Norway, the Netherlands, and Iceland. Meanwhile, brand-new Marella Explorer 2 is offering four new itineraries, with stops including Croatia, Italy, and Malta. And, Marella Discovery and Marella Discovery 2 both have a new itinerary each, covering hotspots like Italy and Spain.
We’re taking you to a selection of brand-new ports of call, too. In Norway, we’re stopping at Alta, which is said to be one of the best spots to see the Northern Lights. Denmark’s Skagen is another new face, and features a standout seafood scene. In Germany, we’re going to Kiel for the first time – this place sits inside a 17-kilometre-long fjord. And, in Spain, Castellon – which nestles north of Valencia – is our new port.
Meanwhile, in Italy, we’re visiting a couple of new places. The first is Santa Margherita, the gateway to picture-perfect Portofino. Salerno’s the second. This pretty city sits to the east of the Amalfi Coast, and features a classically Italian mixture of Medieval churches, art galleries, and pizzerias. Back home, we’re adding Kirkwall to our books. This city is the capital of the Orkney archipelago, and it’s home to the UK’s most northerly cathedral.
2. Be one of the first to sail on Marella Explorer 2
We’re thrilled to announce a new member of our fleet – an exclusively adults-only ship, Marella Explorer 2. The ship will boast a total of 907 cabins – 393 of which have balconies – making it one of our biggest ever. It shares some features with its sister ship, Marella Explorer – like a luxury Champney’s spa, complete with a full treatment menu, wellness centre, and relaxation room.
You’ll be able to treat your taste buds at a range of restaurants, and there’s no shortage of bars onboard, either. Plus, you can sunbathe on The Veranda and, as the sun sets, listen to live music at our very first pub at sea, or take in one of 12 unique shows at the Broadway show lounge. In summer 2019, Marella Explorer 2 will be calling at adventure-ready destinations like Dubrovnik, Venice, and Rome, and it’ll be based in our new home port, Naples.
3. More choice on your cabin
Book early and you can customise your cruise. Get first pick of your favourite cabin type, from single cabins for solo cruisers, to interconnecting cabins that are perfect for families. Or, if you fancy splashing out, our suites offer something a little more luxe. Take the Royal Suite on Marella Discovery and Marella Discovery 2 – this exclusive cabin’s super-spacious, and features its own living room and baby grand piano. Plus, it sits high up on Deck 8 and its glass doors open up onto a balcony, setting you up for jaw-dropping sea views.
4. Take advantage of our low deposits
Want to spread the cost of your cruise? Give yourself more time to pay with our low deposits. Pay just £75 per person, or £125 per person if you’re travelling to faraway shores, and you can pay the rest of your balance later on. Plus, after the success of our All Inclusive ships – Marella Explorer, Marella Discovery, and Marella Discovery 2 – we’re going one step further for summer 2019. Our entire fleet will be offering All Inclusive cruises for everyone from May next year. Marella Dream and Marella Celebration will join the rest of the fleet, becoming All Inclusive as standard. That means that on a Marella Cruises holiday, everything from drinks, meals and snacks, to flights, transfers and tips is included. So, you can budget for your cruise, safe in the knowledge that all of your onboard costs are covered.
5. First pick of flights
For lots of our cruises, your journey begins with a flight. We know that being able to choose the flight that’s right for you is key to having a stress-free start to your holiday. Get booked early and you’ll have more options, so you’re more likely to secure a flight time that suits you. If that’s not enough of an incentive to get in there early, seats on TUI’s flights from local airports tend to fill up fast – be one of the first to book and you can keep your journey to the airport as short as possible. And, you can you can snap up flight extras like Select Your Seat and seats with extra legroom to make your journey even more comfortable.
6. More time to choose your excursions
Our shore excursions are all about taking the hassle out of exploring, so you can jump feet first into a new destination. Your time in port is precious and a day doesn’t give you long to find your bearings. Book online in advance, and you can ditch the guidebooks and let our experts steer you around the sights. What’s more, you can be sure that you’re getting the best deal – our online prices will never be beaten onboard. Some of our tours have limited spaces, which sell out before the cruise sets sail, so make sure that you get in there fast so you don’t miss out. And, if you change your mind, you can amend your bookings up to 24 hours before the tour departs.
