Are you on the hunt for a high-octane holiday? We’ve got just the place for you. PortAventura World is set on Spain’s Costa Dorada, and its trio of parks are jam-packed with all-ages activities. From gentle rides for little ones, to scream-inducing rollercoasters for bigger thrill-seekers, it’s all covered here. We’ve taken a look at everything that PortAventura World has to offer, read on to find out more…

    Pedal-to-the-metal Ferrari Land

Ferrari Land added a trademark splash of red to PortAventura World last April, when it opened up for the first time. On the Red Force rollercoaster you can reach speeds of up to 180 kilometres per hour in less than five seconds, climbing to white-knuckle heights of 112 metres.  Meanwhile, 55-metre free falls are on the cards at Thrill Towers – that’s enough to get your adrenaline pumping. Smaller thrill-seekers are taken care of, too. Head over to the Kids’ Podium and you’ll find a maze of slides perfect for little ones, and the whole family can get a taste of Ferrari racing on the Junior Championship ride. What’s more, a brand-new kids’ area – including five family-friendly rides – opens its doors this year.

    Multi-zoned PortAventura Park

Next door to Ferrari Land, you’ll find PortAventura Park. This place is divided up into five country-themed sections, so you can go on a round-the-world trip of sorts, exploring everywhere from China to Mexico. Each zone is packed with adrenaline-pumping rides. Think towering free-falls and head-spinning loop-the-loops. Little ones have their own rides, too, including boat trips and spinning tea cups. Family-friendly shows are on all day, too. You can sit back and enjoy the likes of exotic bird shows and live music.

    Fun for little ones

SésamoAventura is PortAventura Park’s sixth section, and it has been created for the whole family to enjoy. You’ll find the likes of Elmo, Grover, Bert, and Ernie roaming around here, as well as the rest of the Sesame Street gang. And, there are plenty of rides in the mix. Future pilots can have a go on Coco Piloto, little adrenaline-junkies can brave the Tami Tami rollercoaster, while the Magic Fish ride makes a splash with water babies.

Slides and rides at Caribe Aquatic Park

Water rides are well and truly covered at Caribe Aquatic Park. Boasting a Caribbean theme, this 50,000 square metre splash zone is full to the brim with slides and rides. You can challenge your family to a race on the Rapid Race – it features six individual tracks. The King Khajuna drop slide’s sure to get your heart racing, too. Or, if relaxation’s more your thing, you can take your pick from three artificial beaches. Special kids-only spots are on the cards, too, including La Laguna de Woody.

    Where to stay

With so much to see and do at PortAventura World, it’s more than a daytrip destination. With TUI, you’ve got a choice of three hotels here. A transfer will get you to the parks within five minutes from Hotel Caribe. And, the hotel comes complete with a duo of pools – one of which is edged with a manmade white-sand beach – and five restaurants. Or, if you want to get even closer to the action, you can opt for a stay at Hotel PortAventura. This place has direct access to PortAventura Park, so you can get fully involved with all the park’s shows and activities. And, it’s got two swimming pools of its own. Meanwhile, The Gold River hotel sits right next door to PortAventura Park. If you’re staying at this hotel, the fun won’t stop when you’ve had your fill of rides for the day – it’s wild-west themed, and boasts a pair of pools. Best of all, access to PortAventura Park and a one-day ticket to Ferrari Land comes included with your stay at all of these hotels.
