    Thailand

The buzz of Bangkok draws in visitors from across the world. Expect bustling street food markets rubbing shoulders with religious monuments, and ancient landmarks like the Grand Palace. Built in 1782, it’s one of the city’s highlights, along with the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. And away from the cities, white sand beaches come as standard. Our port of call off of Thailand’s mainland, Koh Samui, flaunts turquoise waters alongside its palm tree-lined shoreline, with bars, restaurants, and massage stands to keep you busy.

You can visit Thailand on lots of our itineraries, including Eastern Sunrise 1, Enchanting Far East 1, Colours of the Far East 1, and Wonders of Asia 1.

    Malaysia

Malaysia’s capital city, Kuala Lumpur, is only a taste of what the country has to offer. Island paradise Langkawi has sleepy fishing villages, rice paddies, and natural wonders like the Gunung Machinchang Mountain – hop on the Langkawi Cable Car to ride to the top of the mountain and see the brag-worthy views. Then there’s Penang, littered with foodie-approved eateries, flea markets, and colonial architecture. And, back in Kuala Lumpur, visit the iconic Petronas Twin Towers and Independence Square, where Malaysia’s colonial history is on show.

    Vietnam

History buffs have plenty to keep them busy in Vietnam. In Ho Chi Minh City, visit the War Remnants Museum to learn about the Vietnam War. Outside of the city, climb into the Cu Chi tunnels, an underground network of passageways that played a vital role in the war. Out on the Mekong Delta, sail past villages built along the riverbank and locals selling food from traditional sampan boats.

    Singapore

Designer shopping malls, sky-high hotels, and traditional markets make up Singapore’s cosmopolitan skyline. The city’s nickname shows off its unique identity – known as the ‘Garden City’, trees and gardens are commonplace among the towering skyscrapers. The city is a cultural melting pot, too, blending Chinese, Malaysian, and Indian influences. Make time to explore the lantern-strewn streets of Chinatown and the bright colours of Little India.
